I have been practicing mindfulness meditation for five years I began my practice with the Headspace app and then I took an 8 week Mindfulness Based course with The Mindfulness in Schools Project and a further course with Breathworks in Manchester. I am now studying a Masters in Mindfulness at the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at The University of Bangor.I am about to start an intensive year in teaching mindfulness based stress reduction and mindfulness based cognitive therapy.
I am a registered nurse, I began my nursing career and have many years experience including caring for people with all kinds of medical conditions but in particular those with cardiovascular disease. Before I became a mum I was a Specialist Nurse in high-blood pressure, I have also worked as a senior research nurse on large international research studies of heart disease prevention and have considerable experience of caring for people with Type 2 diabetes.
More recently I have gained experience as a school nurse in independent schools and also teach mindfulness in schools. From time to time I go into schools to teach health parts of the curriculum.
